Send investor updates from your own email domain instead of the default UpdatePilot address.
Why Use a Custom Domain
- Professional appearance — Updates come from
updates@yourcompany.cominstead ofno-reply-slug@updatepilot.ai. - Better deliverability — Emails from your verified domain are less likely to land in spam.
- Brand consistency — Investors see your domain, reinforcing your brand.
Setting Up a Custom Domain
Step 1: Add Your Domain
- Go to Settings > Domain.
- Enter your domain (e.g.,
yourcompany.com). - Click Add Domain.
Step 2: Configure DNS Records
UpdatePilot generates DNS records that you need to add to your domain's DNS provider. These typically include:
- DKIM records — For email authentication.
- SPF record — Authorizes UpdatePilot to send on your behalf.
- Return-path / CNAME — For bounce handling.
Each record shows its type, name, and value. Use the copy button to copy values to your clipboard.
Step 3: Verify
After adding the DNS records, click Check Verification. DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, but usually completes within a few minutes.
- Pending — Records found but not yet fully propagated.
- Verified — All records confirmed. You're ready to configure your sender.
- Failed — One or more records are missing or incorrect. Double-check your DNS entries.
Step 4: Configure Your Sender
Once your domain is verified:
- Enter a sender name (e.g., "Jane Smith" or "Acme Inc").
- Enter the local part of your sender email (e.g., "updates"). This creates
updates@yourcompany.com. - Click Save Sender.
Your updates will now be sent from this address.
Managing Your Domain
- View domain status and DNS records in Settings > Domain.
- The send step of the update wizard also shows your domain status and lets you fix issues inline.
- To change domains, remove the current one and add a new domain.
