Getting Started

Get up and running with UpdatePilot in a few minutes.

Create Your Account

Go to app.updatepilot.ai/register and choose how you'd like to sign up:

• Email & password — Enter your email and choose a password. You'll receive a verification email — click the link to confirm your address.
• Continue with GitHub — Sign up with your GitHub account. Great if you already live in GitHub day-to-day.

Account Linking

If you sign up with email and later sign in with Google or GitHub (or vice versa), UpdatePilot automatically links your accounts as long as the email address matches. You'll always land in the same account regardless of which method you use to sign in.

Set Up Your Company

After signing in, you'll be prompted to create your company profile:

1. Company name — The name that will appear on your investor updates.
2. Update schedule — Choose how often you send updates: weekly, biweekly, monthly, or quarterly. Monthly is the most common for seed-stage startups.
3. Send day — The day of the month (or week) when your update is due. This drives the streak counter and overdue reminders.

Write Your First Update

1. From the dashboard, click Write Update.
2. Add metrics — Enter your key numbers: MRR, burn rate, runway, customer count, or whatever matters to your business. UpdatePilot remembers these for next month.
3. Add highlights — What went well this month? Product launches, key hires, closed deals.
4. Add lowlights — What didn't go as planned? Be honest — investors respect transparency.
5. Add asks — Do you need introductions, advice, or help with hiring? This is where you ask.
6. Generate a draft — Click "Generate Draft" and UpdatePilot's AI will write a polished investor update from your inputs.
7. Review and edit — Fine-tune the AI draft, lock sections you like, and regenerate the rest.
8. Send — Select your recipients and send the update.
